The turning point
In 2023,
he started again.
After roughly five years in production management, Shawn left a salaried role and joined West Capital Lending. By his account, he returned to originating without his former employer’s book of business.
He had experience, but he still had to build a business again: work new opportunities, develop his process and see what held up in actual conversations.
The team grew out of that work. As other loan officers took an interest in his methods, he began sharing them while continuing to produce.
